Description

A re-creation of :iconwahlaomel:/:iconwafflemel:’s “Red and Green - Stargazing”, with obvious differences, in both media and slight additions/adjustments.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME LOVE :heart:
I hope you like it/don’t mind that it’s technically just a re-creation of your old picture. When you first posted it, it was really similar to a picture I was just starting on that I obviously never finished and I was kinda just like “WOAH! THAT’S EXACTLY HOW I ENVISIONED THE SCENE TO TURN OUT! THAT SKY!” :iconamgplz:

It was also the sky that killed me the most :iconotlplz:
Digital and traditional both have its perks…but gosh, stars are hard to draw D:
As always, I think original picture looks nicer...CUZ MY SCANNER SUCKS/I CAN'T EDIT PHOTOS FOR MAH LIFE ;A;

I felt the need to add in Pikachu and Eevee even though I can't really draw pokemon and I was going to change their hair colours...but I figured I should just leave it :/ Didn't want to butcher the picture anymore than I already had :iconcryforeverplz:

This is only part 1 of my eventual sequence of presents for :iconwafflemel:'s birthday...KEEP ON ANTICIPATING! :iconhurrplz: one or two might be late...

Time: 12 hours-ish in total? Not too sure :/
Media: Marie Gouache Watercolours, paintbrushes, BienFang water colour paper, 2B & 4B pencil, fineliner

Hello from yet another #FeedbackFrenzy participant! :wave:

The starlit sky is very nicely done, very convincing and full of interesting little details while not so busy that it's distracting. I also like that the stars feel very naturally placed, sometimes in little clusters but occasionally spread out and with a nice variation in size and brightness. For the characters, I think the image would be more interesting compositionally if you could find a way to break up the symmetry of the shapes a bit and push them off-center. It would also be nice to see a little more value range in the characters, particularly darker values, to help them feel like they belong in a night scene and emphasize where the light is coming from that is illuminating their forms. And this is kind of a nit-pick, but I think it would help push them forward and space if you darkened the sky a little in the area directly around their heads, because right now they're almost the same value as the surrounding area. But overall very nice work, keep it up! :)
